Newtyne – Past, Present and Future

We are delighted to introduce the next in our #MeetTheNewtyners series – Andrew Smith, Founder and Director of Newtyne.

Having led Newtyne from day one, Andrew has been at the heart of our journey – guiding the company through its growth and development, adapting to a changing landscape and a few challenges, ensuring we consistently meet the needs of our clients with agility and purpose.

We recently had an insightful chat to find out what are his key takeaways are around his experience with Newtyne over the years and to reflect on Newtyne’s journey: what’s defined us in the past, where we stand today, and how we’re positioning for the future and what it all means to him.

Here’s what he had to say…

Hi Andrew, What is the biggest standout from the past?

Looking Back: The Power of Remediation

“One constant throughout my time at Newtyne is the role we’ve played in remediation. It’s been a defining part of our journey. Going back to the ’90s, I was involved with data analysis and programming during the pensions mis-selling review, making sure customers were fairly compensated. Fast forward to more recent years, and our consultants played a key role in delivering the PPI remediation programme for several clients—combining technical skill with deep regulatory insight. Today, as we await the Supreme Court decision on hidden car finance commissions, I’m confident that, thanks to our track record, we’re perfectly placed to help clients navigate any redress needs that arise.”

And what are your thoughts on where we are now?

Where We Are Now: ESG in Action

“Today, compliance and sustainability are front and centre—not just for us, but for all our clients. ESG isn’t optional anymore, and at Newtyne we take that seriously. We’ve made strong progress with EcoVadis, achieving a Silver Award (top 15%), and we’re proud to be rated highest in category by CDP for SMEs. This isn’t box-ticking—it’s about providing assurance. When clients choose Newtyne, they know they’re partnering with a responsible, transparent, and environmentally aware supplier. For many, that’s now a key part of procurement, and we make it simple to meet those standards.”

and finally, looking to the future?

Looking Ahead: The Future is Intelligent

“For me, the future is all about AI. It’s already transforming how we operate internally, streamlining processes and helping us make better, faster decisions. But more exciting is how we’re applying AI to enhance the services we offer our clients. From leveraging Gen AI tools for smarter data insights to exploring bots that support day-to-day operations, we’re embracing innovation at every turn. That said, one thing will always remain true—no matter how advanced technology gets, there’s no substitute for skilled and experienced skilled resources who understand our clients’ business and know how to deliver results.”

Newtyne continues to evolve, but our commitment remains constant: delivering value through expertise, innovation, and partnership. If you’re looking for a trusted team that can help you build on the past, manage the present, and prepare for the future—let’s talk.
