We are delighted to introduce the next in our #MeetTheNewtyners series, Lee Cleal.
Lee, our Finance and Administration Manager has been with Newtyne since July 2016. During that time he has supported the business in achieving its goals, ensuring we are able to function efficiently and the wheels are running smoothly. From organising invoicing and key financial processes to providing backend support for several key systems, his role is fundamental to our success and client satisfaction.
So we decided to ask him a few questions about his time with Newtyne so far;
Here’s what he had to say:
Hi Lee, What changes/impact have you seen in your role since lockdown?
Evolving from a bricks and mortar business to an online one, working remotely from home was most likely the biggest impact I have seen. Prior to lockdown, I was responsible for keeping the day to day function of the office running and when we moved online, finding the most efficient method to achieve business objectives in a new way.
This required all new working systems and processes which was a journey we all had to go on. Challenging but very rewarding too.
How does your role support the business and keep it on track?
Core to my role is making sure that all our invoices and financial processes are managed in a timely and effective way. In addition, I support the business with a range of other administrative and back end system processes. As a key member of the management team I also contribute to discussions about the direction and the future of the business..
What key skills do you think are key to success in your role?
The top skills I find that support me in my role are; attention to detail , tenacity, communication and time management.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of being at Newtyne?
Foremost, we are small to medium business which focuses very much on people first, so for me our unique and personable culture is a real plus point.
During the pandemic we were able to continue working, which gave us all much needed structure during a time of uncertainty . It was also a really positive experience to be able to provide meaningful work and support our colleague’s wellbeing during the pandemic. Something we continue to strive to excel at.
