What is your current role?

I’m a Credit Risk Specialist within the Existing Customer Management team in Credit Risk at Tesco Bank. I’m responsible for delivering portfolio analysis within account management strategies such as credit limit increases and decreases.

It’s a fast paced role, keeping abreast of industry and economic change whilst effectively managing our portfolio, it certainly keeps me on my toes!

I’ve been with Tesco Bank 10 years(!!) and I was part of the first Newtyne intake for Tesco Bank, which has continued to be a huge success since.

How useful was the Newtyne Academy experience?

My academy experience was invaluable – having studied Mathematics at University I had used some software programs before but had no experience using SAS. The month’s training taught me the fundamentals of SAS; which prepared me for my new job at Tesco Bank.

As a graduate, entering my first full time job post education was daunting however I was confident with my new skills that I would quickly learn and hit the ground running. I must have done something right as I am here 10 years later…!

What are the key benefits of the Newtyne Academy?

Over the years, I have made friends with colleagues who have also came through the academy and have had the opportunity to return to Newtyne as part of the hiring team, looking for the next generation of Newtyne grads to join my team.
